Assisted reproductive technologies are widely used in humans and wildlife animal species. In this study, scientists aim to improve fertilization and blastocyst development following in vitro fertilization in mice, using the Lux live-cell imaging platform to investigate if sperm energy restriction and recovery (SER) resulted in changes to the kinetics of embryo progression throughout the preimplantation period. Overall, the results indicate that sperm incubation conditions have an impact on early embryo development and can be useful for the improvement of assisted reproductive technology outcomes.
